Guest guest
Hi Barb, I take Carlson's brand of Cod Liver Oil and then in the spring-fall I'll do a mix of Cod Liver Oil and their Fish Oil. They're Lemon flavored. It would be hard for me to take the same quantity in capsules - I think I figured one time to get the equivalent, I would need to take 8 of the large capsules at a time. While on CSM 4x/day, I took the fish oil (2-3 tbsp/dose) 3x/day. I take the Cod Liver Oil to get the A & D vitamins. I would imagine your C4A might well have come down since you're not in your home anymore. Do you feel any better overall? The curious thing for me is that I honestly didn't feel significantly better when mine came down, BUT that might be because I was still in toxic house and still getting daily hits. I actually should have my labs rerun sometime soon just to see the overall impact of my move. It is difficult to take so many supplements, BUT they make a world of difference in whether I can get through the day or not. I bought some vitamin storage trays and I sit down for 1-2 hours every few weeks and fill up these trays with what I take each time during the day (I take supplements 6x/day). That's the only way it's manageable for me. Indeed, it is very overwhelming the myriad of things that we need to do to function and yes, the costs add up insanely, so you do have to balance your alternatives. At some point, I would love to reduce the amount of supplements I take and all the things I do for detox, but everytime I stop something, I degrade. And, I don't always notice it at first, as it's quite gradual (before I get a nice big crash and then have to work my way back out of the hole). I think that may be why you don't notice the difference with supplements, as the impacts can be quite subtle and take much longer before you can see an overall positive effect. And, of course, we're each different and have different needs, but I will say that the supplements that have helped me the most are the fish oil, B vitamins (including sublingual and transdermal B12 - some folks do injections), magnesium, adrenal supplements (this is a long list including glandulars and herbs), cat's claw (for my lyme - it's an immune system adaptogen), venus fly trap (for my lyme), grapefruit seed extract and a good multi- vitamin. If I go a day without these, I can't function. Even when I reach a point where I feel I'm doing well overall on a regular basis, I'll still keep the fish oil (hopefully a lower dose), B vitamins, magnesium (that really helps my TMJ) and multi on a daily basis. And, I will keep taking Rhodiola when I know I'll be under alot of stress (like week long meetings) as it works so incredibly well for me. Also, for alot of my herbals, I will rotate on and off them periodically, as I think your body stops getting a positive impact over time. In the end, every little bit that you can do should help. You might try just taking a high potency daily multi-vitamin at a minimum (something with minerals such as selenium, zinc, manganese, germanium, molybdenum etc. as they're often low in toxic folks and actually are important for detoxification) and see if you don't feel better overall after a month or so. I am curious though, how long you feel well after hyperbaric and do you take any medications while doing that? I ask because it is an alternative Lyme treatment and my understanding was that it helped to increase the perfusion of the antibiotics. So, I'm just curious if you do it to increase the oxygen or to optimize a particular drug treatment? Be well, B > > What kind of fish oil did you take ?
