MUNDELEIN -- A $97,700 mold remediation project at the new Village

Hall Annex, 165 N. Archer, has been completed, an independent

environmental inspector has verified.

The inspector's findings certified that the building is suitable for

general purpose use upon completion of interior alterations. Testing

was based upon air quality measurements before and after the mold

remediation was carried out by a special contractor.

The village purchased the former factory, warehouse and corporate

office " as is " from the Anatol Equipment Manufacturing Co. for $5.1

million with the intention of converting it into a new village hall.

The seven-acre complex is located across the street from the

downtown Metra rail station.

The property will serve as the heart of a multimillion dollar

transit- oriented development project the village currently has

underway. It will eventually feature more than 25 acres of

condominiums, townhouses, retail stores and office developments.

The architectural firm of Sente, Rubel, Bosman & Lee, Ltd. has been

retained to renovate and repair more than 25,000 square feet of the

former Anatol building to eventually accommodate the new village

facilities. Village offices are currently at 440 E. Hawley St.,

where they have existed for many years.
