Guest guest
I am glad the subject of sex was brought up for it is a very important topic that no one likes to discuss. Hopefully the following explanations will help those who are experiencing difficulties and possibly even help their partners understand what is taking place and why. Sometimes when sexual problems occur, understanding them according to the principals of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) can make things a little easier to understand. In the most simplistic terms too much heat in the body will create an increased sex drive and too much cold will cause a decrease. Each has it's own set of complications. When an imbalance occurs this can manifest in numerous conditions. The study and understanding of TCM is complex and vast. The following is a brief window into an example of some sexual problems according to TCM. Certain disharmonies can create a series of conditions related to internal heat or cold disorders. With mycotoxin exposure you can have either problems with heat and or cold, though heat conditions are often more prevalent. This can manifest in what is called a toxic heat syndrome an excess type of heat which will create the common rashes, etc. that many experience. Or you can have what is called a deficiency type of heat, where people become what is called yin deficient, often resulting in dryness, hot flashes, being hot at night and or night sweats to name only a few symptoms. The yin representing coolness becomes weakened (deficient) resulting in this heat condition. The yang which represents heat becomes dominate. It is no coincidence that exposure to mycotoxins sets off an inflammatory reaction. What is rarely talked about is an excessive sexual drive within women (as well as men) which can be a symptom of an ongoing exposure. This is usually a result from the amount of heat generated in the body through a root problem such as with mold. This can then lead to multiple organs being affected as with mycotoxin exposure, though I will not address this here. For women, mycotoxin exposure in creating an excess or deficiency heat condition commonly manifests in chronic vaginal infections, UTI's, IC and chronic inflammation of the cervix, all heat related. After the exposure is when an individuals sex drive can sometimes drop down to no desire. The condition i.e. root problem creating the extreme heat has ceased. In addition, because of the chronic infections and inflammation, women can be left with permanent difficulties. Sex, can become something that physically can create further discomfort and problems. Hormonal shifts also complicate the lack of desire and can create a thinning of the vaginal skin which can create problems as well. Put all of this together and those in the recovery process from a mold exposure can find sex to be something they wish to avoid, rather than to be enjoyed. Again, this is only one type of example, the opposite may also occur. In terms of Chinese Medical diagnosis we utilize many measures including looking at a persons tongue. Thousands of years ago there were no diagnostic tools to see what was going on inside the body, so the condition of the tongue was and still is used as it can reflect what is occurring with the internal organs. You can look at your own tongue to see if there is a red or pale color. A red dry tongue indicates heat, cracks in the tongue are further indications of a heat condition past or present. A pale moist tongue is a reflection of a cold condition such as with yang deficiency. With males this can result in premature ejaculation. Yang represents heat and a deficiency of this will result in cold type of disharmonies. Often the yang deficient person feels cold all the time and has no sexual drive. In addition the shape of the tongue, thickness, type and color of coating on the tongue and or lack of coating all are reflections of the state of ones internal health. I hope this helps some. Guest guest
Hi , This is very interesting. I have been told that my tongue is a mess by several acupuncturists. One of them treated me for several months with both herbs and acupuncture and she was amazed that my tongue never responded to treatment. take care,
