Guest guest
To: Kimbrow Well said. EMS personnel should take care of " Self / Family " first. Remember the No. 1 rule? " EMT safety first and foremost " that includes surviving economics (in my books). There is no SHAME in wanting to take care of finances and providing for our families. And there is no SHAME in asking our profession for this simple need. There is no SHAME in making a good living. There is no SHAME in making a good wage. If making a good wage was SHAMEFULL, then we should SHAME everyone else in the medical community (and I don't promote that). Including Pharmaceutical kingdoms. Anyhow, I love being a paramedic. Unfortunately I had to make a career change in order to provide for my loved ones. Fortunately I have been able to volunteer for the past 20 years (66 to 72 hours per week). Good news is though I have been able to bring our service into the 20th century and start paying full time people to do what they do best. I just wish we could do more for our Paramedics who do this for a living.
