Guest guest
I have been having some problems lately with the skin on my feet cracking. They have, for a long time, had this problem, but it has increasingly gotten worse over time. I have tried numerous lotions, and nothing is working. I talked to my podiatrist about this, and he thinks that it may be some kind of fungus. I am starting Lamasil for the fungus of the toenail, and he said that if the feet were due to a fungus, then it would clear that up to. The circulation to my feet and hands are not real great, and maybe wondering if this is part of the problem also? I was diagnosed with diabetes 2 in 98, then over time, and with a little help from gastric bypass, I lost almost 200lbs. Happily, my diabetes is gone (now I'm hypoglicemic), but the circulation to hands and feet is still not good. Any suggestions? Thanks, and happy Thanksgiving to all...Kellie
Guest guest
Kellie, I don't know if this will help, but I can suggest three things that might help: 1) Apply bagbalm liberally in the cracks and put some kind of wrap over it to keep the bagbalm from getting on your socks or shoes. 2) Squeeze the liquid from vitamin E capsules into the cracks and treat the same way as in #1. 2) Thoroughly clean, sanitize and dry the cracks and put superglue in the cracks. : ) I don't know if this is okay to do, but I do know that doctors use this to close cuts, etc. Good luck. Guest guest
yes, I am having a major problem with my hands. back in the summer it was my feet and now it is my hands. I have to use that Suave intensive care hand creme on my hands at least 10 times a day if not more. in the beginning they got in such bad shape I lost I don't know how many layers of skin peeled off. but the hand creme has helped alot. and that name brand works better than any I have tried. this week while cooking and constantly washing my hands they were beginning to look like they were going to start cracking and bursting opening. I started putting all the dishes I could in my dishwasher. and every chance I got I started using my hand crème. my feet are really dry now but not cracking opening or anything like that. just rough and dry. A good treatment for your feet is bag balm before bedtime applied really heavy and then put on socks and it will help her feet alot. I am bad to get hot during the night and the first thing I do is kick my socks off. Jena In Ga. Re: Anyone else having probs with skin on feet cracking? Guest guest
I have the same problem. I don't have the greatest circulation either (due to heart disease). A friend told me to put vicks on my feet and then put on white cotton socks before bed. In a couple days I could see a huge improvement. > > I have been having some problems lately with the skin on my feet > cracking. Also, using vasoline and putting it on real heavy and wearing socks to bed helps too. I have a time with cracks in my feet in the winter from pn, rsd, and being a diabetic. Another lotion to use is jerkens but it has to be the one that has healing on the label. I use super glue on my thumb where it has this spot that periodally starts bleeding..don't ask me why, the doc said it looks like a group of blood vessels that are too close to the top. Anyway, I use super glue on it and it doesn't hurt anything. Never thought about trying it on my feet, but it sounds like a good idea. CYH!! Cheryl **************Life should be easier.
