County officials are aware of the second mold infestation in the

district court building in Farrell in six years, Commissioner Olivia

Lazor said Tuesday.

But wet, wintry weather isn't helping a quick fix to the problem.

The building, located on Idaho Street in Farrell, had a previous

infestation shortly after the county bought the building and moved

then-District Judge Henry Russo's offices there in 2001.

That problem had been fixed, Lazor said, but a new infestation was

discovered last month.

The roof at the building is also leaking. On Feb. 8 commissioners

hired HHSDR Architects/Engineers, Sharon, to come up with plans to

replace it.

Now the county will also be looking at ways to remove the mold.

" We're trying to expedite this matter as quickly as possible, " Mrs.

Lazor said. " But the weather hasn't been cooperating. "

The county is looking at places to hold court proceedings until the

problem can be fixed to ensure the welfare of the staff and Judge

Antos, Mrs. Lazor said.

" This is a temporary inconvenience, " Mrs. Lazor said.
