Guest guest
Hi - Welcome. Is your toxic black mold stachybotrus? At any rate, a general or google search with the name of the mold and lymphoma should get you initial info. Then I'd go to Pub Med and do the same thing there - you can get in there through the NIH.gov site. ~Haley <juliemeadors@...> wrote: Hi Everyone! I am new to the group and wanted some info! I had toxic black mold in my house. Not only did I come down with lung problems, I was also diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma. I asked my doctor if the black mold could have caused my cancer. His answer was " no one knows because research has not been done " . Does anyone know where I can more info on mold and lymphoma? ~Haley

Guest guest
Try searching this database: http://services.inist.fr/public/eng/conslt.htm select " easy search " or " expert search " and make sure you check " all years " . Separate the keywords by commas. It's a pretty comprehensive database. I've found a lot of things regarding to toxic mold. -Branislav > > Hi Everyone! > > I am new to the group and wanted some info! > > I had toxic black mold in my house. Guest guest
Hi , You may not find a direct correlation between the mold and the non- Hodgkins Lymphoma, but there is definitely one related to the genotypes that have a predisposition for being made ill due to mold exposure (those with the DQ2 and/or DQ8, where the DQ8 that is problematic is the one that also has DR4 as that's one of the dreaded genotypes). The DQ2 and DQ8 genes are those that are most associated with Celiac Disease (CD)(aka gluten intolerance) in 99% of the cases. There is definite research that correlates celiac with non-Hodgkins lymphoma (275 hits in pubmed). In my view, you can see the correlation by just looking at the gentotypes. Shoemaker's research is really only looking at folks with gluten intolerance, which he believes is triggered as a result of the increased cytokines, which results in the immune reaction to the gluten. So, this isn't Celiac disease per se, BUT the treatment is identical - a Gluten Free (GF) diet. And, if you follow the celiac/gluten intolerance research further, you come across the research of Dr. Fine, who believes that it's better to follow the GF diet BEFORE you reach the point of full blown CD - i.e, when you just have these elevated antibodies, especially when you have those genotypes. [CD within the conventional medical community is only when there has been significant damage to the intestines]. As well, CD has dermatological and neurological impacts, with the research on the latter being in its infancy. Before I was even aware of the issue I had with mold, we did testing for CD genes/gluten intolerance and were all positive. I got tremendous systemic symptom relief on the GF diet, as did my kids. In my view, it's really difficult to say what I can blame on the mold exposure versus the CD and I think it's impossible to say which came first. Guest guest
I think PubMed would be the most useful place to look. Type in the keywords (types of mold, types of toxins, types of diseases) and get results back. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?DB=pubmed On 4/5/07, <juliemeadors@...> wrote: > > Hi Everyone! > > I am new to the group and wanted some info! > > I had toxic black mold in my house.
