Guest guest
Hi... You're in a good place. We all share the same thing no matter what causes the pain. As for hiding it..sometimes not so easy. I talked to anyone in my family that deals with me on a daily base what to expect and not to worry. There's nothing they can do except accept you for what is going on. Sometimes they want to make it better and feel powerless to help and sometimes just deny you have a pain problem. Guest guest
Hi Lotacats I hear you and you are right. My friends and family always wish to help me an dmake it all go away but we all know that is not possible. I just take it one day at a time and try to do the best I can. Sometimes I like to close my eyes and just remember back to the days when I lived without pain and it all seems so unreal. I became addicted to painkillers last year and went off cold turkey and was violently ill so now I try to manage on as little possible. Thanks for your reply..cherie > From: cherie22001 <cherie22001@ yahoo.com> > Subject: nice to meet you.. > To: Hugs-N-Pain@ yahoogroups. com > Date: Sunday, December 7, 2008, 2:32 PM > Hello Everyone > I am new to this group and looking forward to sharing > with you and > hearing how you cope. Guest guest
Bummer on the addiction. I literally cannot afford to become addicted. It requires an opiate to block the signal to a spasm that can make you wish you were dead. It really wrecked my life and took years for them to discover this little fact. The opiate works on a neuro level to prevent it and stop it if it gets started. I keep my tolerance low with periodic drug holidays so I don't get sick when I stop them. I take a few days a month off. No problem..my pain comes back...I just bite the bullet. My doc is ok with my tolerance management. I've maintained the same level of opiates for years. Guest guest
I was addicted to opiates but it will never happen again..I have learnt my lesson the hard way be sure..cherie > > > From: cherie22001 <cherie22001@ yahoo.com> > > Subject: nice to meet you.. > > To: Hugs-N-Pain@ yahoogroups. com > > Date: Sunday, December 7, 2008, 2:32 PM > > Hello Everyone > > I am new to this group and looking forward to sharing > > with you and > > hearing how you cope. Guest guest
Ok except for my newly irritated nerve...(carpal tunnel). Get to that with the doc on my next med check visit. My son started night shifts and left Byte the cat a little disoriented. Two sleep with him and two sleep with me. I got them (the cats) a Christmas present called a fling ama string. Should be fun to watch. A vertical belt drags a string thru and thru so it appears and disappears. It hangs on a door knob. http://www.cattoys.com/flingamastring.html I also have a mini helicopter for the family for fun and bumper cars that are remote control. That should amuse the adults and the cats. That little helicopter could be in real danger if the cats can jump higher then it can fly.
