thank you. I did call them the min I got home, talked to manager. I don't want

to get the wrong person in blame.. I was told to go to police dept, make report,

then take to manager. Is it worth all this? what do you think.??? moran009

---I would definately do three things. One, I would call the pharmacy

and let them know you were short. They probably will give you attitude

since it is a methadone script but you need to report it. Second, talk

to your friend and mention that the pharmacy shorted you 13 pills and

see what they say and how they react. You probably arent going to get

the pills owed to you but pharmacies have to fill out discrepancy

paperwork if someone is shorted. And I'll bet your friend, if they took

them, has already taken them.Third, call your dr. and tell them you

were shorted so when you call for an early refill they will know the

situation and give you your script.

Im so sorry this happend to you. We always have to be on alert when

get a script filled and someone is with us. It's sad, but people do

take advantage of us.

I had a whole bottle of 90 pills of t3's lost at the pharmacy.....by them....and

they insisted we had them.  That was a fun ride.  I wrote to the doctor,

insurance and pharmacy at walmart. 

It all blew over but I was gonna cover my butt.  They had refilled the script

all within the one week that the 90 pills were missing.  That is strange.

Pharmacies are not strangers to diversion, I'm sure...but if it's anything like

we do as nurses we count...and count.....and count and sign them off and so on. 

I've never counted mine before.  They seem to work out ok.  I separate them into

pill holders when I get them home.  Those weekly things.

Since Walmart did nothing to calm me about them and seemed to just let it go I

switched to s which was closer anyway and less busy and crowded.

As a nurse we've lost pills before....one incident I was in once was pretty

stupid but it happens.  In fact it was so stupid that it had to be the truth. 

One could not have made that one up how we lost a couple of wheels of narcs.

wow, it the same store for me. I am going to talk to manager today. I'll let ya

know what happens. I just hate the thought of being looked at like a pillhead

or something....like the hosptial does to me when my ulcers act up.... thank

Hey ya'll,

I am not sure if I am right on this or not...my docs tell me to call the police

or go down to the station and fill out a report, so that they know they were

possibly stolen. Of course the pharmacy may do this anyway....that was on a form

I had to sign at the pain doc's, so if anything happened it would be on record

to help protect me.

Has anyone else had to sign a form like that??? Just something to think about.

I had two prescriptions lost at a pharmacey. Soma and Lortabs. They insisted

that I did not drop off the scripts to be filled. I insisted and told them to

check their security camera. Then I filed a complaint with the state pharmacey

board. The board inspected the pharmacey but could not locate my scripts. Next,

I called the police department which directed me to a state narcotics

investigation board. The agent said my scripts would be found the next day.

Surprise, surprise, the pharmacey called and said they had found my scripts.

But, the damage was already done, the pharmacey had called my doctor and said I

was a drug addict. The letter is in my medical file and I inisted the pharmacey

insert a letter saying they had found my scripts. Another time they shorted me

30 pills on my sleeping meds. Once again, I made them replace them. I do not

care if people find me aggressive anymore. If we are not advocates for

ourselves, who will? Have a great day!

Wow...I would have that remark fixed. They cannot remove stuff on a chart but

they can make it right. Something like that can effect your future care as a

pain patient.

My doctor knows me and trusts me and they just felt bad that I had to have an

issue with the pharmacy and did not have an issue with me at all. I was

fortunate. I know some people will do anything to cover their mistakes. You

really have to cover yourself.

My son, at least, was my witness because he was involved as well as he picks up

my stuff at times. I pick those up myself now that the pharmacy is close enough

for me to drive to it without too much pain.

hi ynn it is hard on some of use i have familey members that will steal some of

my pain pill if thay get a chance my wifes brother use to steal some if he could

and my brother use to steal some if he could i keep them hed but there is times

i am herting so bad i cant get up to hide them and were i stay on the couch i

cant keep them head good enuff i keep them close i got a good lock box to keem

all my meds in that stoped the problem donnieKY

Donnie,

I am sorry to hear that, it must be really hard for one thing you are in all

this pain and you have to worry about folks taking your stuff and keeping it hid

while they are there....you are in my thoughts hon and I am glad you have a lock

box. Me too, but with just me and hubby, there is no problem, he has his own

pain meds and I have mine. Now if I  ever had people over, that I was getting to

know or small children I might think about locking them away. For one thing, it

keeps me from running short and protects the kids from getting something they

shouldn't and it is just peace of mind these days. Things have really changed

over the years and I am only 46, but feel soooo much older sometimes,lol.

Hi Donnie,

Sorry about the tooth, that can really be a bothersome throb sometimes, and then

sometimes its not too bad. Glad your pain is not so bad, mine is so so, getting

stuff packed and goodies baked for out trip to Texas for Xmas. Should be going

in about a week. Got to put the cats in the vets for boarding on Thurs the 11th,

and all my scripts are supposed to be refilled, with the exception of the pain

meds.....if a doc here writes a script in AL, they will not accept it in Tex.

because it is not on a triplekat form.....but I will have my doc write it anyway

and show to the doc who knows me in my hometown and maybe I can stop by the

clinic and have him rewrite it....this is stupid, and my epilepsy meds are a

problem too cause its a week to early, but the neuro said no problem he will

call it in Thursday in am and it should be ready by lunch.

I wish I could get tri yearly refills or something. The Tricare system sucks

sometimes.

Thanks for letting me vent and I want you to heal quickly....OK??? LOL

How is your pain level today? I am taking it a day at a time to get stuff packed

by Friday and if I forget something oh well.....I feel kinda scrooge like today,

guess cause I am tired. So today is rest and tomorrow doc appt. for refills and

baking on Wed (hubby said he would help since I am so bad off pain wise this

year) he is not a kitchen kinda guy, except to get a bowl of cereal, make a

sandwhich or empty the dishwasher and then he piles the dishes on the table. He

does not know where I keep things he says. We have only been married 28+ years!!

Oh well, I found out my Dad is the same, so its a guy thing??

I will keep checking mail even when I am at my Mom's, so if you need to yak for

no reason, I will email ya back.

Hey Donnie,

I figured it was a man thing...oh well that's okay! lol My husband is Active

Army and we are stationed at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL; which is in

north AL. We should be leaving Thurs. after we get the kitties boarded and stay

the night in Memphis. I would rather go I20 but he insists this way is shorter!!

You guys....lol So it turns out you are not that far from us really. Kinda neat

huh? He will be retiring next year and we are having a house built in the area.

I want to go back to Texas, but he wants to stay here and teach for a while. He

was a Jr High Math/Business/Computer teacher before he enlisted in '89. So I

said okay, but I get to fly to Tex to visit the folks once in a while. Our son

in law is military too, and they are stationed in Texas right now. He is

deployed to Afghanistan until sometime next year.

Can't wait to see my family this weekend!!

Guntersville and Huntsville. is is not far from the TVA dam. my daddy-in-law

That's pretty close to us....too bad we were in TX, you could have called and I

would have met you at the gate!! (Military instalation....rules etc...)

And yes we are still building a house near Huntsville here in 'Bama, but I would

rather be in TX ....long story on that.
