Re:back surgery

First of all I am very sorry for your many problems and it is hard to lose

someone so close and special. I lost a brother this last June to Parkinsons.

I won't give you advice because your problems sound so different than mine did

but I will say when I had mine nearly ten years ago I have had worse pain and

then neuropathy came about a year later. I have plates and screws, lots of

fusion. I wish it would have helped but listen to your Dr. because with all of

your problems it might be very much needed. I will keep you in my prayers and

hope you will write back when you decide what to do.

Lois , Thanks you for your post . I am sorry for your Brother . It is

so hard , I know . I am sure your back is way worse than mine . I

would be the third person to have these same areas operated on , I

know we all have early degenerative disc disease on my Mom's side. I

am terrified of the hospital more than the surgery . I think my

spirits being low doesn't help this feeling . If it relieves some of

the pain and gives me some of my life back , that would be a blessing

.. I think depending on the damage they literally just suck the disc

out is what I have heard . So unlike my Mom's surgery when I was a

teen and they cut her back up pretty bad and she was in bed for two

weeks. My Older brother is in another state and we don't talk much

since we lost my younger brother , but he had the laser surgery for

the same area . What works on one may not on another is what I am

getting . It helps so much to have someone to talk to about this if

even by email . Thank you for that and your prayers . I am going for

my appointment soon , getting three opinions , my Christmas present to

myself . I have you in my prayers as well , Thanks again , Wend~
