meters and pokers

Hi everyone,

Someone wrote recently asking about meters and which poker to use. I have

the Accucheck Advantage and they have what's called the Curved Comfort

Strip that uses a tiny drop of blood. Those strips just became available

in Ontario Canada very recently, I am going to buy some today as they are

on sale for $79/100. Yes I know they are much cheaper in the US! Anyway,

they get good comments for really using just a tiny drop. I too hate to

poke my finger, I had one of the worst cases of poker-phobia in the western

hemisphere, I'm sure. It took me ages to psyche myself up to do it. I am

ok with it now, although I sure dont like it. I have a Sofclix poker with

11 settings, mine is on #2. Sometimes I dont feel it at all (yay!) and

other times it does pinch for a second. My wish is that they could make

these things silent, I dont like the " click " sound it makes!

I dont suppose I will ever be satisfied or happy with what ever kind I use

as I hate the whole thing, but I do it because I have to. I hate it when I

poke my finger and can't coax enough blood to do a test, then I waste the

strip and have to re-poke my finger. I am hoping the Curved Comfort Strips

will eliminate this problem. Good thing this is a rare occurence!

Take care,

Elva
