When my daughter was small, she had serious asthma as well as frequent

pneumonia. Her doctor said to never give her allergy meds nor cold

meds to her. He stated that these meds thickened the mucus which

worsen the asthma and pneumonia (SP??) I know if I am having asthma, I

have to keep off the allergy meds or I get worse.

For right now, try drinking lots and lots of water to get the mucus

thin again. It may be a good idea to go and breath some hot steam.

We've found that Guifenesin is good to thin mucous and help with sinus

and lung congestion. That was our doctor's recommendation.

[] ALLEGRA-D AND ASTHMA

Has anyone ever had problems taking Allegra-D since they have asthma?

I was recently diagnosed as having asthma. I went for allergy testing

on Friday and had to be off the Allegra-D for at least three days. I

stopped taking it on Wenesday and just took it again today. My

breathing improved over the past couple days. Then about an hour after

taking the Allegra-D again this morning I have been feeling short of

breath and it is getting worse.

Thanks

Cheryl

I am using guifenesin right now. I have a horrible virus that is

mostly in my lungs that developed into infection. The Dr told me to

take it along with a list of other meds.
