Guest guest
I think, at the core, the things that we should look at as being behind the rising incidence of mold illness are the incresed cost of energy, which means that windows are not as open as they used to be in cold and hot weather.. and also, in newer housing, the move to different materials..things like 'was-wood' instead of wood.. which tend to be less mold resistant. The combination of less outside air and more sheetrock, fiberboard, etc. is problematic.. Also, lots of housing is being built on marginal lands that really is too wet. It shouldn't be used for housing, or if it is, the designs should be modified to take that into account, but it isn't. And there is a built in delay factor as it tends to take people months or even years of heavy exposure to lose their built in tolerances and get really sick, like people here are, and then an additional VERY long time to figure out WHY they are sick due to the media disinformation campaign on mold illness and hypersensitivity/MCS, etc. - especially with many doctors clearly not doing much to solve this problem, at best. Its as simple as that..
