Guest guest
Someone answer this please....I need to know the answer also. My neck has been hurting since Aug/Sept. from my tethered cord surgery and the doc don't seem to care that it hurts. - S. Could that be related to her condition? She's due for a followup MRI within the next few weeks. Jon
Guest guest
Yes, it is possible for neck pain to be associated with TSC. I had horriblely intolerable neck pain for the 3 months prior to my 3rd de-tethering -- and after my surgery the majority of my neck pain went away. My neck felt like it had a rope wrapped around it and someone was tugging on it from behind -- hence my cord re-tethering. It is not something that is a " normal " symptom - hence your surgeon or doctor not picking up on it or addressing it with the attention it deserves. Guest guest
My daughter is the same age and had her surgery in Sept. She also conplains about neck pain and the doctor does not seem to worry about it so much. But due to spinal cord leakage and such that can happen I would just give the doctor a call and make sure he knows and see what he thinks about it. It is hard for a child to go through this. My daughter is in pain each day even after the surgery. She has lost both bladder and bowel control and will be without those functions for the rest of her life. It is so hard to see them go through it all. But it helps to have others around that understand what you are going through. Guest guest
I also experience neck pain and headaches but they " say " it is not related...hmmm, tension on the spinal cord which is connected to brain causing tension throughout the spinal column...yep they're right, I just don't see how tcs could result in neck pain or headaches...:0 > > Yes, it is possible for neck pain to be associated with TSC.
