Guest guest
Ok trusted friends -- my headaches are now tolerable again... my lump on my back going down ever so slowly, so I'm thinking the spinal leak is healing - or healed? I have no idea how you know if you've stopped leaking? Now, my lovely legs -- I am finding my legs extremely weak today... noticed them getting weaker yesterday. I am almost 3 weeks post-op and my legs seem worse all of a sudden. I have not kept up my recommended walking program as I was completely set-back with severe headaches, but have been walking around the house off and on every day. Is this normal or should I be very concerned? As usual, I have a call into my neurosurgeon but who knows if he'll get back to me. Seems like a hard person to reach. Guest guest
Dee, It is hard to say what is causing your weakness. It may be just b/c you have been in bed so long and not being able to walk and strengthen them. Now that your leak seems to be on the mend, once you are up and around again, if it doesn't improve, contact your MD. I started losing function in both of my legs very rapidly about 3 months post-op and continued to decline very rapidly over the following months. I had developed hydrosyringomyelia-and it was putting pressure on my spinal cord - causing the loss of function. If you notice anything else in addition to the weak feeling (new area of numbness, increase spasms, decrease in b & b function, etc), I would call your MD sooner.
