Hey gang,

Has anyone had a 2nd cord release for retether after they had

problems with wound infections in the first cord release? (does that

make sense?) If so, please share the name of your neurosurgeon.

Once again I'm on that band wagon - every couple of years or so, as I

continue to decline, I keep hunting for a different answer to my question.

Thanks,

V

I realize that Dr.'s are hesitant because your history......heck,

you are mostlikely hesitant too, I am sure.

But I would imagine that if you really felt a Surgery is necessary,

and are willing/understanding of the Risks, then you would be

the one that would call the shots on whether it is done or not.

How have things been going since this Post, that I replied to late,

I know!?

I had a second detether after extreme aggravation of chiari after the first

detether. I had no chiari problems (although I did have chiari 1) all my

life. Scar tissue built up around the bovine patch and the loss of spinal

fluid aggravated the Chiari in the most wicked of ways.

My original doctor dissapeared quick like a bunny (he actually left on an

airplane 2 hours after the surgery) and retired 1 year later. I consider

the 1st detether a total disaster.
