On Monday, the Supreme Court ruled that the EPA has the responsibility to

limit CO2 emissions from cars and trucks. Not surprisingly, the response from

the federal government has been underwhelming. The EPA wants to 'wait and see'

(for what, we're not sure), and the President essentially said the ruling

doesn't matter.

Thankfully, Senator Barbara Boxer wants to drag the EPA into Congress, and

nail them down on how this ruling will affect EPA policies. We need to give her

our support, but we also need to make sure she pushes for caps on tailpipe CO2

emissions.

Sign a petition to Sen. Boxer today with our simple form - let her know she's

got the backing of the public and that we need strong emissions caps coming from

the EPA:

It's not surprising that the EPA is grinding their heels - this is the same

agency that a few months ago suggested we take lead off of the list of toxic air

pollutants.

So we need to throw our support behind Sen. Boxer's move to bring the EPA into

Congress. This new Congress has shown some promising moves in the right

direction on energy and global warming, but it's up to us to make sure that they

take hard line stances, and push the important policies.

This step will both force the EPA to act on the issue, and bring much need

publicity to the issue. Please take a moment right now to sign the petition, and

give her the backing she needs to take this action.
