Guest guest
Darlene, I agree w/you. You will really enjoy the TFS information, atleast I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I did put something I leaned in a Real Estate class to the test today. This may help some of you who are facing living in an apartment like we are right now. It worked too. Called the management company. Told them I had a daughter w/MCS and asthma, and she would need special accommodations. (these tips are also the law here in Michigan, so you might want to check your laws in your state-they must make reasonable accommodations) Told them that the duct work would need to cleaned professionally, Merv 11 filters would need to be used, and that I'd need an apartment w/either hard floors or new carpet, then we'd need to wait for it to off gas for a couple of months, and I would need to have indoor air quality tests ran to ensure her safety. They agreed, and were very happy to accommodate. Some places may make you pay for the duct cleaning, and x-tra cost of the filters. But geez if you have to live in an apartment atleast you know it is somewhat safe. Yes, of course there are people that carpet bothers and paints bother and so forth. But, each individual has to assess their own situation. Thought it might help some of you though who have concerns of apartment living, and are forced to live in one. Also, remember if it is a 2 story unit the upper units are usually the safest. Hope this helps some of you. Re: [] Re: EPA-TFS , I went onto the EPA site, called the toll free number and ordered the kit. They were very nice and said they would get it right out to me. This should be a mandatory kit for every school. Recent Activity a.. 7New Members Visit Your Group
