Subject: Rants, Raves, and Whines...

Hiya Folks,

I haven't ranted, raved, or whined lately so let me take this opportunity to

do so. As you all may or may not know some new technology has occurred

inorder for the deaf/Deaf to watch movies via captioning called " Rear

Window " . This piece of new technology was the reason why I was able to watch

" Star Wars: Phantom Menace " during the opening week. After I left the movie

there was a statisfied smile in my face, and I thought to myself,

" Gee...isn't modern technology so wonderful that they are now seeking to

include people who 5 years ago weren't inculded? "

But this is when my rants come in. As you all may or may not know, a movie

starts tomorrow called, " The Blair Witch Project " . Many people 'claim' to

say that this movie is far more scarier than, " The Excorcist " . However, I

hope to debunk that claim because NO HORROR MOVIE is FAR MORE SCARIER than

" The Excorsit " ....okay maybe " The Shining? " , but that's another story.

Anyways, I was hoping to see 'Blair Witch' opening day like I saw " Star

Wars " but lo and behold...NAY. Why? The theater that provided Rear Window

Captioning isn't playing it opening day!!! And the theater that I used to

normally go to doesn't provide Rear Window Captioning!!!

Anyways, I'm really irked. I was hoping to see this movie during opening

day, but I guess not.

Why am I writing you about this, you ask? Well, maybe because, I, like

Caren, am bored. Or maybe because I would like to start, with your help, a

letter/e-mailing campaign to MPAA or whoever that all theathers have rear

window captiong during opening day of their flicks. I also would like to

start, with your help, a letter/email campaign to MTV. Why you ask? Because

lately MTV hasn't played any music videos but saturated their programming

slots with 200 hours of the 'Real World'. Although I must applaud them for

finally captioning 'Road Rules' this season. However, I'm still a little

annoyed to find that some programmings like " MTV: Lovelines " and " MTV:

Undressed " aren't captioned at all and pfffft.....they're not even music

videos for cryin'outloud!!

Well, these are my rants...thanks for letting me vent but I'm really serious

about writing/emailing MTV and asking for more captioning on their " original

programming " . I emailed them before, but I doubt they'll pay attention to

one person.

Again thanks...

Mark

Mark,

I don't care for MTV but I support ur cause. Let us know how we can help with

these campaigns for movie theatres and music video programs.

<<The Taco Bell Chihuahua, a Doberman and a Bulldog are in a doggie bar

having a drink when a good-looking female Collie comes up to them and says,

" Whoever can say liver and cheese in a sentence can have me. "

So the Doberman says, " I love liver and cheese. "

The Collie says, " That's not good enough. "

The Bulldog says, " I hate liver and cheese. "

She says, " That's not creative. "

Finally, the Chihuahua says, " Liver alone......cheese mine. " >>
