Guest guest
Hi - I actually don't have many problems with breathing due to my exposure, but I HAVE HAD them due to other things that I've recovered from (walking pneumonia long before my exposure, congestive heart failure due to clotting off an artificial heart valve, also unrelated to my exposure). Forgive me for always sounding like I'm at a lectern when I answer you, but we're gonna need more description when you say, 'difficulty breathing.' There are a vast number of ways breathing can be difficult. 'Wheezing' is descriptive enough on its own, and (if you'll forgive my dark humor and see it as laughing with and not at you since very often mold gives us freaky symptoms that make our doctors send one eyebrow straight up and look at us quizickally to see if we're pulling one of their legs) while none of us wants to wheeze, wheezing should be discern-able on an x-ray which means it will be 'real' to a doctor who will make an investigation into what's caused it. So think of it as 'good' news. ;-) I'll grant you it won't seem like 'good' news if you're also having seizures and/or coughing up blood - (here comes the dark humor) I'll make an exception and say that isn't necessarily good at that point, but if it's just wheezing then it's probably still fairly good. What you may be describing is asthma, but please remember I'm not a doctor and even over the internet I can't diagnose even myself...lol. Now if it's just asthma (and I don't say that to trivialize it - I watched my grandmother suffer from it for 35 years, and I know it's horrible), you may actually 'win' in getting a connection between your breathing difficulty and your work environment (since you had mentioned that in the earlier post) - asthma and allergy and sometimes irritation (usually gastro) tend to get attributed to mold by most doctors. So if it's asthma, congratulations (that's the dark humor, but also trying to help frame this as 'good' at least compared to the other choices...you can get treatment and live with it). Coughing up blood is generally less good than asthma on most scales of things you don't wanna have. And less easily diagnosable. There are two separate ways that molds and mycotoxins can git you that you really don't wanna have. The less bad is a fungal infection (mycosis) because it can be treated - although treatment may mean IV medication for a long, long time. My grandfather got a fungal infection during by-pass surgery in his ribcage and not his lungs, actually, and he had nurses coming to his home every day for a year to give him antifungals - and they ended up doing two or three surgeries to remove portions of his ribs. And he was LUCKY...they knocked it out in him. But if you have mycotoxicosis, which is not infection but being poisoned essentially, well, now you're in the mirky realm of having to see of of the doctors who specialize in mold and attempt to follow a protocol that helps to bind to bio-toxins to get them out of the body. Many patients have great success with this, but mainstream doctors are mostly going to look at you like you're a nutcase because this stuff isn't well understood and hence gets ignored. So if you don't mind describing a bit more about 'difficulty' and 'exertion,' it may make it easier for folks to answer...what's happening when you experience this? How long does it last? What do you do to make it stop? ~Haley jodirego <jodirego@...> wrote: Hi, does anyone else have this problem, Difficulty breathing with exertion? Guest guest
I developed breathing problems to the extent I had to go on a nebulizer. One thing, if one has breathing problems, it is best to see an MD ASAP as breathing issues are signs of several serious health problems, one being the heart. I would not take it lightly. > > Hi, does anyone else have this problem, Difficulty breathing with > exertion? Guest guest
If you see a doctor and mention mold their eyes often glaze over and from that point on you don't get any care for what is bothering you.
Guest guest
I totally agree that doctors treat mold victims crazy, been there done that but breathing issues can be a number of things. Heart problems is one of them. Not all illnesses are mold related. I know when I was my sickest, I would had pinned everything on mold at that time but now looking back, there were a few things going on that were not mold related...but, most was mold related. I notice every time I mention " doctor " I get a rebuttal on here. I know how doctors are about mold and how they treat mold victims with little or no respect or regard for what is really going on. BUT, I also feel when one is complaining of breathing issues they need to be advised to see an MD, just in case it is something that is not mold related. I know people with heart problems, signs are shortness of breath and they never been exposed to mold. They are treated with medication which has extended and made their life better. I am sorry for all of the people I offended when I mention the word doctor!

Guest guest
Yes - they are very good. Dr. Hooper works very hard to get testing done and he works with Dr. Rhea who helps folks recover. After working with them for an extended period (not on my own symptoms, but my neighbor's), I have every faith in them - and I take it as a sign of their success that they get targeted for 'inspection' a great deal - they always pass, but it exhausts them. It takes so little for the folks who have monetary stakes in preventing this information from being known and understood to cause disruption in the lives of those who are advocating for us. It's not inexpensive. When we succeed at getting this story out about what's happening to us, they will be among the pantheon of heroes who have been fighting for us. ~Haley a Townsend <kmtown2003@...> wrote: I found a place called realtime labrotories.com that tests for mold. Guest guest
Thank you, Your never really sure if what you read on the Internet is real or a scam. I was amazed on how Dr. Hooper has been very supportive and helpful since I live so far away. Like about 3,000 miles away. It makes me wonder how many may suffer from this with out help or even yet correct treatment. thank you again for sharing a Haley <myhaze@...> wrote: Yes - they are very good.
