Guest guest
Hi everyone, I've posted a couple of times here in the last few months... I have surgery scheduled for Oct 7 to correct diastematomyelia (T12 to L3?) and tethered cord (two places). I'm 47 and this will be my first spine surgery as an adult; the previous surgery was when I was an infant to correct SBO. I'm trying my best to prepare. Reading good things (mind-body connection stuff)... doing water aerobics... Coordinating carpools for my kids and food for my family for the month post surgery... Do you have any suggestions for me? I guess it might be a long recovery period, but I really don't have any idea. Do patients usually go to a rehab facility after leaving the hospital or do they get to go home? I meet with the NS on Sept 29 and I'm sure he'll fill me in on details at that point, but any info you can share would be helpful. Thanks, Suzy
