Guest guest
Hi Sharon, Thanks for responding. I want to have the myelin antibody test done. I work for a healthcare organization and it would be very easy for me to use their lab. What do you think about that, versus going the Specialty Lab route? Guest guest
Beth, I'm not familiar with that test without researching it. I would go ahead and use their lab, but not knowing their stats concerning false positives/negatives and the way they run their tests I would say it would be a gamble like any thing else. Dr.S., uses Labcorp along with several others, but I am sure he is very aware how they preform these tests. As a matter of fact at his office you walk out the door and down the hallway right into Labcorp. If there is a question concerning the results it could be very easily run again. Also, any of the other Labcorp labs around the country, if they are not familiar with his bloodwork all they have to do is call the main lab in land for the proper procedure. They had to do this with us. KC > > > > Beth, > > > > Most of the doctors who deal with this issue use labs that they are > > familiar with, basically so that the results will not vary. Guest guest
Hi Sharon, Thanks, that is good to know. My insurance will pay for LabCorp. I think I would feel better having that test, and hopefully won't have any antibodies to the myelin sheath. I've had numbness and tingling close to three years, on and off, and nothing shows up on MRIs, hopefully that is a good sign. Dr. Shoemaker told my friend that he likes the MMP9 to be under 300, and mine was 350 a few months ago. Thanks, Beth --- In , " tigerpaw2c " <tigerpaw2c@...> wrote: > > Beth, > > I'm not familiar with that test without researching it.
