Blood Pressure and Pain

Hi!

To Donnie and anyone else this might affect-I had a very similar

experience as Lotsacats a year ago.

I had been seeing a Primary trained in Hawaii who was open to

alternative medicine, which I am interested in. We worked as a team

for several years. At that point I was out of a wheelchair, carefully

active, and for the first time in years, I would go for hours at a

time WITHOUT PAIN. It was wonderful! And then I moved.

We had booked a Primary in Louisville so that I would not run out of

meds. When I saw the Lou. Prime she no longer prescribed the level I

used NO MATTER WHAT CIRCUMSTANCES. She was sympathetic, but explained

she would not lose her license just for me. She made an appointment

for me with a pain clinic, which I could not see for TWO AND A HALF

MONTHS.

To hurry this story along, in that time I looked for other

doctors,(with BP rising), tried to find strong enough herbal tenures

to help me (they don't exist here) and went to the ER several times,

to no avail, as my BP increased with my pain. My old Prime had

prepared a short copy of my history, explaining the dire need of my

duragesic patches and other pain killers, but when I went in the docs

refused to read them, saying they didn't have time. A couple of times

I came away from an 8 hour wait with ibuprofen! And my BP got higher

and higher.

My BP finally got to an impossible number. My ears were ringing and I

had chest pains. As they usually do when my BP is high they took me

right away, but AGAIN AS USUAL, tried to treat the BP, and not the

pain. When it wouldn't go down to even 250 over 150, (it had been 300

someover something),they finally gave me a shot, and it started down

immediately. I was given a minimum dosage of pills until my Pain

Management could see me. After I left the hospital I had trouble for

months concentrating, and my hands would shake for no reason. I was

given a physical that summer and told I had most probably suffered a

mild stroke.

I agree with Lotsacats. Don't mess around with it! The stronger our

pain, the more stress is put on our body.

Good Luck To All!

Jeanne
