Guest guest
-- The same thing happened to me last summer -- about 2 1/2 weeks after my de-tethering surgery. It turned out an infection had developed within the sutures causing staph. They put me on a 3 week course of keflex and ordered me to see the nurse once a week for wound care. It did go away and the discharge from my infection was darkish yellow. If it's staph have them run a culture right away -- because the longer it goes un-treated the more suseptable you are for MERSA etc -- yet it could also have something to due with a spinal fluid leak. I picked up Staph/Strep B in the hospital last summer and my last infection (last July) took 2 1/2 months to clear up -- so it's nothing to mess around with. My staph infection's come back (now) as I've been battling it for about 7 weeks and the neuropathy in my right foot -- where the infection is only hinders healing. So I'd ask for a culture to be done for Staph/Strep B and discuss spinal fluid leak with your primary and nsg. Good luck. I'm sorry to hear you're going through this. -- Dileas, Dochas, Agus Gra, ~ With Faith, Hope & Love ~ _________________________________ " Stability and peace in our land will not come from the barrel of a gun, because peace without justice is an impossibility.
