Guest guest
My daughter, (8), had her one year post-op check up yesterday. The follow-up MRI was run last week. No sign of retethering, but the doctor reports she does have a neurogenic bladder. Also, no sign at all of backed up bowels - totally clear. Woohoo! Unfortunately, she's still having accidents and still wears a pullup. So we see the GI doc in a few months to discuss a bowel retraining program (she's in very high demand here - the best in the area, and there's always a long wait time to get in to see her). I need to make an appointment to see the urologist to discuss bladder leakage. The neuro doc recommended ditropan. I know some folks here have mentioned that before. So, the good news is that post-op her bowels and bladder are functioning (bowels weren't functioning pre-op). Bad news is that she's still not having the control she should have to allow her to ditch the pull ups. Jon
