Black mold discovered inside a Tri-Cities health department

Renovations were halted at a Tri-Cities health department after

black mold is discovered in the building.

Greene County Mayor Alan Broyles says construction workers

discovered the mold at the Greene County Health Department last

Thursday. The mold is confined to the basement and does not pose a

heath risk.

The cost of the clean-up is expected to be less than $50,000. Mayor

Broyles said he isn't sure how the cost will be covered.

Last month the health department received a $164,000 dollar grant

from the state to renovate the basement area and expand the primary

care clinic.
