Guest guest
After discussing everything with all of Gabe's doctors including specialist in Boston I have decided to go ahead with the surgery. Everyone believes the surgery is necessary to prevent the inevitable. The doctors can already tell the tension being applied given the low position of conus and the fat found in the filum. They also believe it will correct Gabe's clubfoot to help make the surgery on that more sucessful. I made most of the decision on the following: 1. Because Gabes as so many symptoms that crossover from the Vaters it makes it really hard to monitor changes because I would never be certain whether it was TSC or Vater. 2. I want Gabe to have the best chances possible, his ability to run despite the clubfoot is his lively hood. Because of his limations with his arms I can take the chances and limit his legs. 3. It is the easiest form to correct and the possibility of retethering is minimal. I appreciate everyones thoughts, opinion, and empathy towards my son and I during this difficult time. I believe his surgery will be schedule for this coming week. This I find weird that I was going to have to wait almost two monthes for an appointment to see him yet he can schedule a surgery within a week. Unbelieveable uhhh. Thanks you everyone!
