AMEN! I can't agree with you more about the guilt issue. Even though my

dad didn't make the decision for me to have any of my surgeries, after the

third surgery left me paralyzed, he feels extreme guilt. He feels like he

pushed me into - totally not true. But it has definitely affected our

relationship.

Listen to your gut instinct. If you trust your doctor,

believe what he says. If you have any doubts, get a

second or third opinion. The only thing I beg of

parents, don't ever feel guilty for your choices in

this. It doesn't help the children - trust me. My mom

feels a lot of guilt over not doing something sooner,

and it hurts my heart.
