Guest guest
Wierd, there are two family combinations of Craig and on the list. In our case, It's Val with the NF2 and in the other it's Craig.... Anyway, some good news for a change.... We are back from LA - is doing GREAT since she had the 4cm AN removed. It is less than 2 weeks and she is already driving and doing virtually everything she did before. She says her balance is not bad - probably because she got used to it from the tumor harming the balance. Another thing that seems wierd is that her hearing actually appears better. I think having the 40-50% in the one ear and 100% in the other was confusing her... She's angry that she was told not to drink - she definitely longs for a beer or glass of wine. They wouldn't give a finite time til drinking was OK....but I'm assuming maybe 3 weeks or more after surgery? She's not taking any steroids anymore. Here she thought she'd spend the summer recouping and she is already looking for things to do. Being as she teaches, she probably will take some courses toward her masters or related fields. One thing she is considering is to get a degree as Guidance in the school. She figures that this may be a better job if/when she starts to lose hearing in her other ear...i.e., it's a one-on-one situation instead of a whole classroom. Any comments or experience on this from the list? Surgery team was Brackman/Hitselberger at HEI. ------------------------------------------------------ Craig Issod HearthNet at http://www.hearth.com Webmaster@...
