Date of Birth 2/3/34 Diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes 2/1/98 (wonderful birthday present) Control only with Glipizide, Insulin, and try to watch the carbs Can only walk 5 minutes per day as per my Cardiologist because of congestive heart failure and 6 cardiac arrests. Widowed with 5 grown children (4 boys and 1 girl) All of them are very kind, caring and considerate and are definitely my blessings. I took good care of them and now they are taking good care of me I live out in the country in the hills of East Texas with my great big old Rottweiler named Greta. She's so much company to me and very protective. We sit out on the patio and watch the birds and squirrels, and the ducks swimming in the lake. It's very peaceful and quiet and I can't think of anywhere else that I would want to be.. I try to maintain a good sense of humor and keep a cheerful attitude about everything, even my health problems. I am unable to work now but have been a restaurant owner/operator, Realtor, Owned and operated a craft shop called Sweet Dreams, taught piano lessons, worked as equipment control coordinator for a large overseas shipping company, and had my own school called Texas Training of Alcohol Beverage Techniques (Texas T.O.A.S.T.) registered with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission where I taught responsible alcohol service classes to businesses who sold or served alcoholic beverages. Hobbies: Arts, crafts (including crochet) and music. Enjoy listening to old Western Swing from the 40's & 50's. I Collect mice, owls, and turtle figurines and have a little town with all kinds of tiny houses and stores set up in my 75 gallon aquarium instead of fish. I really do enjoy turning on all of the lights in the little houses and the lamp posts at night and just sit and look at them. It's very relaxing. I was church pianist for over 40 years, taught Sunday School for over 30 years, played the drums and sang and entertained weekly at various nursing homes with The Olde Time Gospel Singers for 9 years (until the last 2 cardiac arrests), write poetry, just put new strings on my guitar and want to get back working with it, and just love all of my friends on the internet. I try to live by the Golden Rule: " Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. "
