Since I feel that our feet seem to be an area of definite risk, I get really aggressive with any abrasion or injury. If it's a wound, I clean it well, soak it in Hydrogen Peroxide, followed by Triple Antibiotic ointment and a bandage, all applied as aseptically as possible, and I change the bandage two or three times per day. So far everything has healed well, although I had one pretty deep cut along with a swollen and bruised toe that took a couple of weeks. In the end I applied a drawing salve under the bandage, and that helped a lot. I thought there might have been some deep infection or fluid around the bruise. I imagine with anything more than a slight cut that we are prone to healing on the outside and maybe leaving some infection still inside. Drawing salves are very useful.
