Guest guest
Ginny, I agree 100%. But the Federal government still has problems even admitting that mold causes illness in any form, so its not surprising that they act this way. They see acting to protect the health of workers as some kind of admission of liability, virtually guaranteeing that they will make more people sick. The message they are often trying to send is that its the victim's fault for getting sick. Not their fault for ignoring maintainance so long that there are mold spores and mold toxins in the building that are going to cost money and time to remove. Only legal action will change this. They won't change unless they are forced to.
Guest guest
I was on the phone for what seemed like forever with NIH and CDC this week asking for statistics on cheimical poisoning or MCS. After connections after connections to " someone who could help " they have no stats themselves. The end of the connection directed me to http://www.mcsrr.org/factsheets/index.html I thought they might have some stats to quote themselves. Nope. Who SHOULD be documenting this? Shouldnt the CDC have stats on MCS for example. THe said that its accepted as an illness and they have stats on other illnesses. While I'm on this - why does wikipedia for the entry on MCS quote GOTS on their site?? CDC does accept MCS as with the likes of the CDC giving this site as one of their best sources. They also suggested: http://www.health.gov/environment/mcs/ii.htm First the ignore you, Then they laugh at you Then they fight you, Then you win - M Ghandi LiveSimply wrote: > Ginny, I agree 100%. > > But the Federal government still has problems even admitting that mold > causes illness in any form, so its not surprising that they act this way. > > They see acting to protect the health of workers as some kind of admission > of liability, virtually guaranteeing that they will make more people sick. > > The message they are often trying to send is that its the victim's > fault for > getting sick. > > Not their fault for ignoring maintainance so long that there are mold > spores > and mold toxins in the building that are going to cost money and time to > remove. Guest guest
, regarding Wikipedia. I guess you know that Wikipedia is not a good source of information since anyone can " edit " the material there. It is more a " fun " source of information that might, or might not be correct. If you don't think GOTS should be referenced, you can go in their and edit that out is my understanding. Anyone can change the content of Wikipedia. > > While I'm on this - why does wikipedia for the entry on MCS quote GOTS > on their site?? Guest guest
Barb, others, I totally know aobut wikipedia. Im a disabled librarian - but we need to accept the fact that wikipedia is maseively used by those we want to reach. AND even the NIH guy who spoke a while with me quoted from there when defining the illness- Maybe sharon can edit the gots parts citing his fraudulant sides and letting the wiki editors know hes not the one to be in there. I DID change wikipedia a year ago on the MCS site, it was changed back. Just one more place we could fight for facts is all - angie barb1283 wrote: > , regarding Wikipedia. Guest guest
from what I'm getting, MCS is accepted as a allergic type syndrome. not a result of toxin exposure. if everything is blamed as being caused by allergy than they dont have to admit that mycotoxins, ect. in indoor environments, up the nose cause brain damage. so, sence their being forced to admit it's a real illness they put their own spin on it to play it down. > > > Ginny, I agree 100%. > > > > But the Federal government still has problems even admitting that mold > > causes illness in any form, so its not surprising that they act this way. > > > > They see acting to protect the health of workers as some kind of admission > > of liability, virtually guaranteeing that they will make more people sick. > > > > The message they are often trying to send is that its the victim's > > fault for > > getting sick. > > > > Not their fault for ignoring maintainance so long that there are mold > > spores > > and mold toxins in the building that are going to cost money and time to > > remove. Guest guest
I didn't really want to post this because it goes way off track but to see where their headed. what can't be blamed on allergies will be blamed on genetics. http://www.niehs.nih.gov/external/faq/mcss.htm > > > > > Ginny, I agree 100%. > > > > > > But the Federal government still has problems even admitting that > mold > > > causes illness in any form, so its not surprising that they act > this way. > > > > > > They see acting to protect the health of workers as some kind of > admission > > > of liability, virtually guaranteeing that they will make more > people sick. > > > > > > The message they are often trying to send is that its the > victim's > > > fault for > > > getting sick. > > > > > > Not their fault for ignoring maintainance so long that there are > mold > > > spores > > > and mold toxins in the building that are going to cost money and > time to > > > remove. Guest guest
I like Wiki as a quick reference and find it is usually fairly accurate. lacking in the areas that relate to our illness but what else is new. you just have to know what your looking for. > > > , regarding Wikipedia. Guest guest
hope they figure it out soon, I dont think I can take much more of those " allergy " causeing toxins going up my nose to my brain causong temporal lobe(limbic)siezures and the other route to my cns from the blood stream, causing brain swelling intercranal pressure on my eyes, lesions, and the csf leaks damage to my ears, and the nose/olfactory bulb damage from both. haveing both affects described above makes MCSS effects much worse the more organ damage suffered by exposure the more damage to brain barriors/paths the less the path of resistance. > > > > > > > > > Ginny, I agree 100%. > > > > > > > > > > But the Federal government still has problems even admitting > > that > > > mold > > > > > causes illness in any form, so its not surprising that they > act > > > this way. > > > > > > > > > > They see acting to protect the health of workers as some kind > > of > > > admission > > > > > of liability, virtually guaranteeing that they will make more > > > people sick. > > > > > > > > > > The message they are often trying to send is that its the > > > victim's > > > > > fault for > > > > > getting sick. > > > > > > > > > > Not their fault for ignoring maintainance so long that there > > are > > > mold > > > > > spores > > > > > and mold toxins in the building that are going to cost money > > and > > > time to > > > > > remove.
