Good find, LiveSimply. In summary, chlorine dioxide appears to work

for some mold but not others, exp Stachybotrys.

Notice these conclusions were based on constant exposure for 24

hours, not the variable (unknown) concentration levels in a real

building - which usually last minutes, not a full day.

I wonder what Saber Technology and part owner Rudi Guliani would have

to say about this study?

Carl,

Like you pointed out a few days ago, making me think about this dilemma from

their point of view, I also think for THIS PARTICULAR SITUATION its a good

option because of the ever present danger to patients of invasive

aspergillosis.

If it were me owning the hospital, I think I would still do the fumigation,

as it seems to be the only option available to them in the time frame they

seem to have hanging over them.

But damn, if I were them I would be more honest about the situation. We all

are adults, we can handle a serious discussion of the pros and cons. You

know what I mean! *If* they were just honest about it from the get go, they

could maybe enlist the hospital staff to, post-fumigation, serve as eyes and

ears of a special mold cleanup committee, giving them rewards for finding

new leaks.. or old dead or live mold reservoirs, hunting them down, cleaning

them out, GETTING EVERYONE INVOLVED TO PREVENT SICKNESS..

Instead, we start the whole thing out with what they probably see as a

'white lie' but which will probably poison attempts to REALLY clean up the

long term problem afterward..

Does that make sense?
