Guest guest
Thank you for your reply to my greetings message. I am a type II diabetic. I take Gluacophage and Glucotrol and recently my doctor put me on precose and Gemfibrozil. I do not take insulin however my doctor said that may be the next step. I am going to join my local YMCA so that I can start swimming for the exercise. I used to do BG levels all the time but haven't done so in a while. I work with a few other type II's and they said they don't take levels because what do you do if your readings are high?? I get a hemoglobin (spelling?) AC test every 3 months from my doctor. She said that self testing every day wasn't needed. Maybe getting the exercise and these new meds will help, I don't know. I am scheduled to start diabetes education classes on March 17th and maybe learn some things I need to know to help myself. Again thank you for your reply and look forward to hearing from you again sometime. Thanks The SAMMYVAN
Guest guest
Welcome to the group, Sammy. You will enjoy and learn here. What you do if you have high BGs is increase your drugs, exercise or lower your carbohydrates. If you have high reading you really do need to test. If for no other reason, so your doctor will know what is going on. Nice to meet you.
