Guest guest
Thanks for all the replies - I guess should give a bit background on the main resistance have to moving - which is rental market and lack of availability - literally 6 places even on craigslist in 4 neighboring communities. The place I moved into was purchased by oweners last year, the prior tenant thought needed repair, however was paying only $1000 a month near beach and saving up money to buy a place. I found out after finding a lot of problems, he did not let it get inspected or report stuff as did not want booted out over repairs. When I moved in, they bumped rent up to market value assuming was clean since no complaints from last person nor did he want any inspections and told me when I mentioned floor that they did not know what would find in place yet figured no complaints so turn over quickly. As for myself, prior place renting was ind. owned condo in santa monica - was sold and then forced into moving - happen to love area, work a few blocks from where started school and is one of hardest areas to find housing in - in any price range - as am actually in mid - to high range for one bedrooms so it is actually about availability of housing in area. I moved into this place mostly with plan of getting a few other aspects put on paper better ( ie self employed so need more documentation then most) to qualify for a mortgage or at least raise fico enough to have more options - the neighborhood I am ideally trying to move into is actually a little less then mine as pay more for being a few blocks from ocean and upcoming trendy spot - and the more community area I prefer requires a higher fico then most mortgages since very competitive ie 40-50 applicants per one bedroom and mostly though a large rental agency. In summary, was actually planning on looking into breaking lease in October when market better - horrible from May - September. And yes, have consdiered further areas however traffic in LA is huge consideration as I actually work freelance in 3 locations plus school and am lucky 3 out of 4 places are within half a mile of each other and have been focusing on changing my lifestyle so less time in car and furthest place away only go twice a week for about 6 hours so also factoring in drive times, gas prices etc..... There are also many other non mold related habitability issues which keep popping up and realized this morning buying me out of my lease is just a fraction of the needed repairs overall that have shown up and magor violations of california state law in lease which is why also dealing with reports as would like to be comfortable while looking for new place since can easily take 6-8 months in area I live to find something good plus the extra competition in current season. Hope makes sense and again, thanks for responses as helped in dealing with large amount of friends saying " they have to fix it, not right, just moved, try to fight it etc..... who are familiar with housing market because quite honestly would have moved out the week I moved in. As far as reactions to mold, they are just making me put for energy on this then other areas that are important to me like my studies and being in some hard classes this time. thanks, Donnielle
Guest guest
Hi Donnielle, Your reason for staying makes alot of logical sense and it is hard to argue with your position. But, you will consistently find folks on this list still telling you to MOVE as many of us have done just that. I walked away from our " dream home " on a wooded acre in North Texas (yes, there are trees in Texas) and am now living in a house half the size and about 1/3 the value, but am thankful to be recovering my health and even more thankful that my kids are recovering (and we only recently found out that the dog's health had been impacted). In the end, I've likely walked away from at least a couple hundred thousand dollars in terms of my " half " of the house (my husband is still living in the land of denial in the " sick " house). Nothing is worth risking your health. You are absolutely correct that other places can also be bad. I had to delay my move because the " safe " place I was trying to move into had water damage and mold in both bathrooms, so I spent several months longer in the sick house than I would have liked, while both bathrooms were rebuilt from the outside in. I tried hotels, but found those also had mold, so I stayed in the safest room in my house with a window open to try to minimize the impact. But, I was still severely impacted. Do you not have friends that you could stay with? At a minimum, I recommend you at least get a doctor to run the HLA-DR genotyping to see whether you're a dreaded genotype. If you are, then likely any amount of mold is going to impact you and your recovery will not be easy. Your career and livelihood could well be at risk. This is something that most family and friends will not understand. But, there are many on this list that are no longer able to work due to mold exposure. Don't let that happen to you - the longer you stay there, the more likely you are to encounter difficulties in completing your school work. Be well, B. > > Thanks for all the replies - I guess should give a bit background on the main > resistance have to moving - which is rental market and lack of availability - literally 6 > places even on craigslist in 4 neighboring communities. > > The place I moved into was purchased by oweners last year, the prior tenant thought > needed repair, however was paying only $1000 a month near beach and saving up > money to buy a place. Guest guest
What Haley said is very true but the tone can be better. We that have ived this nightmare for so long know what you are saying, but I think you have to still be easy on the newer people that come to this site. It is hard to understand all of this in the beginning. I know when I started this mess I never heard of mold and that was nine years ago. I worked on a lawsuit for a year and did a good job. Unfortunately I live in Delaware a very corporate state but they do have rules now about mold supposedly. Atleast she could get the place condemned before she moves. She could take bulk samples before she moves and worry about the other stuff later. But she must move eventually. I moved right away but I got ill slowly living in a place for many years and I didn't know there was mold. There was no water anywhere, it was behind the walls in the basement but no leaks. I had doctors backing me up with my illness so that wasn't the problem. I moved but into another moldy place and it took about five months to get out of there only to move in the same building but they never cleaned the mold in other apartment. Too bad I signed a release when I moved into the other place in same building. Do not sign a release. Then moved into another moldy place. Be very careful moving even if you have to move to other city. I know it is hard. I have a 73 year old mom living in her car and she use to live in a condo on the ocean. Be very careful, this mold is very dangerous regardless what our government says. Bush had mold in the 90's when he was governor. We are all working hard to make change but nothing has happened yet. So we know your despair. My husband had seizures right in the lawyers office and was rushed to the hospital. He didn't get sick until the third place. > > Forgive me, KC, I'm getting a bit harsh here... > > You're barking up the wrong tree here, Dude. > > I just moved to Texas from Long Beach (before that Santa 6th
Guest guest
TRUE, AND WE DONT REALLY KNOW HOW BAD HER MOLD PROBLEM IS, BUT WE KNOW THAT SENCE SHE HAS ALLERGIES IT ALSO MAY NOT MATTER HOW HEAVILY CONTAMINATED IT IS. SOMEONE ELSE MIGHT HAVE NO PROBLEMS LIVEING THERE FOR A LONG TIME. IF SHE KEEPS GETTING SICKER AND SICKER OUR ADVICE MAY RING MORE TRUE TO HER BUT WE DONT WANT TO MAKE NEW PEOPLE COMEING HERE PARINOID OVER A SMALL MOLD PROBLEM EITHER. SHE HAS OUR ADVICE AND I DOUGHT SHE WILL FORGET IT,LOL'S, SHE JUST NEEDS TO PAY VERY CLOSE ATTN. TO HER SYMPTOMS AND VERY CAREFULLY WEIGHT HER WANTS AND NEEDS AND KEEP IN MIND THAT LOSS OF HEALTH CAN MEAN LOSS OF OTHER THINGS TOO. AT LEAST SHE KNOWS THE POTENTAL DANGER SO HER CHANCES ARE MUCH BETTER THAN SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T HAVE A CLUE. > > > > Forgive me, KC, I'm getting a bit harsh here... > > > > You're barking up the wrong tree here, Dude. > > > > I just moved to Texas from Long Beach (before that Santa 6th >

Guest guest
If you read the whole verse from the beginning, other parts of it remind you of things people in this group have done to rid themselves of mycotoxins, shave heads, leaving area for so many days, etc. Interesting. I had not read it before. --- In , " " <toriaquilts@...> wrote: > > thanks, barb......that's only PART of how i knew this. and its also how i got my strong FAITH back. > victoria (now called a " walking miracle " ) > > [] Re: mold in apt - > > > Leviticus: > <http://www.godrules.net/library/kjv/kjvlev14.htm> >
