Guest guest
I don't know if this would be helpful but Wikipedia has a page on shingles at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shingles There you can check out pictures of shingles rashes and what doctors do to treat it. Places that have mold also often have lots of very nasty bacteria. Mold and bacteria sometimes do enter people through cuts and infect them while they are still alive, and they get really sick. But without a lot more information, and i would guess cultures taken from the infection, any doctor is going to not be able to figure out what is going on, so you need to encourage him to see good doctors for this. If his eye is involved, his vision could be in danger. He needs good medical care, even if it is expensive.
Guest guest
Thinking about this, there are MANY different kinds of bacteria, molds, mycobacterium, etc. that could be involved.. Chances are they have at this point verified the shingles diagnosis with some kind of culture, I'd guess. Maybe some mold savvy doctors here could tell you some things to look out for but in any case, regardless, HE NEEDS TO BE IN MEDICAL CARE. Not alternative medicine, when something like this happens.. Guest guest
if he's constantly going to the hospital and you seemingly are willing to be an advocate on his behalf, INSIST that they do a thorough exam & bloodwork. doesn't surprise me that the docs are diagnosing it as shingles. i don't remember where i read this, but IgG & IgE fungal panel(?)...like i said don't quote me on it, but have them run do that bloodwork (it's some kind of fungal panel blood test). also insist that an opthamologist check him as well. good luck & your brother gets better soon, > > HELLO, > I AM DESPERATE FOR INFORMATION, TO BEGIN MY BROTHER HAD GOTTEN > TERRIBLY ILL. Guest guest
Regarding Shingles..could be, but in my experience, a doctor almost NEVER considers the fact that you have been exposed to mold, even a high amount, as anything that needs investigating, so unless it is looked into, I wouldn't feel secure with the Shingles diagnosis. --- In , " xhannahx24 " <xhannahx24@...> wrote: > > if he's constantly going to the hospital and you seemingly are
Guest guest
Connie, In my opinion from what I understand, when you have an infestation of mold there is a good possibility you also have extremely high levels of gram negative/positive bacteria. By the sounds of this and as quickly it has spread I would have to say it is most likely bacteria. At the same time if he's been around that much mold it's also very dangerous to be inhaling this continuously. Also from what I understand many hospitals are refusing to preform any type of fungal panels, but it definately doesn't hurt to ask. It almost sounds like he has a steph infection. Guest guest
Connie, that is a lot different than the crisis situation you were describing. He needs to go to a good opthamologist. But don't expect them to understand the mold aspect of it unless you point them to articles about the biological warfare uses of trichothecene mycotoxins and those toxins effect on the eyes. Guest guest
Connie, if your brother received a lot of antibacterial medicine, it probably killed off alot of the beneficial bacteria we all have in our digestive tract. This bacteria protects the lining of your digestive system and helps you to digest food and to absorb nutrients. These beneficial bacteria are found in fermented dairy products and we probably got them originally when we were babies and had our first milk. To replenish them, buttermilk, yogurt have them if they say 'live bacterial cultures' on the package. You can also buy these in capsules, called 'probiotics' but in order to be sure bacteria are alive you should buy them refrigerated, probably need to go to health food store, and yes, they can make you feel better if you need them. Buttermilk will coat digestive tract and can help sores that way, then add the yogurt, plain would be best, not sugared since if he has any fungal infections of mouth, throat and stomach from being ill, sugar will increase their numbers. If he can't take yogurt without sugar as it is very bitter, get him the capsules but he should drink buttermilk to coat mouth and throat as capsules will bypass those areas, and just get intestinal tract. Only exception I can think of to find refrigerated probiotics in a regular retail store is *Walgreens*. They have them in their pharmacy department but you need no Rx to get them. Just have to ask. They keep them back there in their refrigerator. Some pharmacy techs will not know what you are talking about, so tell them it is called " Lactinex " and it is kept in their refrigerator. They all have them. You can buy them in crystals and sprinkle on food or get tablets and let tablets slowly dissolve in mouth. > > DEAR KC, > SINCE MY BROTHER WAS HOSPITALIZED AT LEAST 7 TIMES AND OF COURSE MISSED WORK HE WAS FIRED, AND LOST ANY INSURANCE.
