Guest guest
Barb, I had a similar experience. The reason that story from Australia Jeanine posted mad me mad is because the PR firms that have been hired to help gut environmental protections are repeating half-baked ideas like that - that toxins are actually good for you, in news stories all over the globe. Its not just in the media. They hire armies of stay-at-home housewives to troll the Internet and post theories like that to blogs and mailing lists too! If they can sow doubt, or at least create enough ambiguity for some very dishonest and sinister people to claim that the jury is still out on these things, they know they can win the PR war. Because their goal is merely to PREVENT CHANGE.. They know that barring a personal experience with them, like us, most people DESPERATELY want to believe less disturbing things like their 'hormesis' garbage -, because the truth - that even low levels of many of these popular, profitable toxins cause measurable increases in human illness, is so very disturbing. This Internet spin doctoring or " reputation management " or whatever they call it - is big business these days..
