Guest guest
I can add to this. Before having it done make sure all ducts that you can reach have their seams sealed shut, otherwise the strong wind that goes through them when being cleaned, shoots dirt out the seams and into your house. This happened to me, fell right on my head and in front of my face! All you need to do is take " duct tape " (surprise) and wrap it around any seam that is not sealed already or you can wrap whole duct in insulation material and then seal that with ducttape, that way ducttape won't be right on bare metal where it can be hard to get off. Other surprising thing, was that I got what I considered top company reputation-wise in " cleaning " , but was in drapery cleaning and carpet cleaning but figured the " quality " reputation would carry over. Instead I found they were using a bag with a large hole in it to catch the debris in.....no kidding!!!..and it was inside my basement, not outside house. So, watch them set up and watch them do their job, and if you see something you don't like, stop them and call the company, or agree to not continue with job, and get someone else. In this case, they had no other bag, so he tried holding it closed with his hand (before that he was okay with it being semi- open). --- In , " tigerpaw2c " <tigerpaw2c@...> wrote: > > How to hire a duct cleaner > Indianapolis Star* > >
