Guest guest
Mould discovery shuts part of Postville clinic Last Updated: Friday, June 29, 2007 | 7:35 AM NT CBC News Newfoundland & Labrador - St. 's,Newfoundland,Canada* http://www.cbc.ca/canada/newfoundland- labrador/story/2007/06/29/postville-mould.html A mould problem has forced the closure of part of the medical clinic in a small Labrador coast town. Clinic officials have temporarily cancelled all outpatient services in Postville, following the discovery on Wednesday of mould on the ground floor of the building. Boyd Rowe, chief executive officer of the regional Labrador Grenfell Health authority, said officials are now waiting to learn how bad the mould problem is. " We're not overly concerned at this point, but in the interest of staff safety and public safety, we really need to take these precautions to partition off that part of the building and relocate the service, " Rowe said. A crew has been called in to study the mould, but poor weather kept them grounded in Happy Valley-Goose Bay on Thursday. In the meantime, health officials have set up an emergency clinic in another section of the building in Postville, a community of about 220 residents.
