Guest guest
I have no idea what any of this means!! LOL, I am just simple minded. One thing I do know, anyone with a mold sensitivity should never never drink bear. > > http://www.mbaa.com/pdfs/EBC_2005_Prague_abstracts.pdf > L.23 the oxidative stress responce of brewing yeast during propagation > and fermentation- > OXFORD BROOKS UN.BIOLOGICAL AND MOLECULAR SCIENCE.UK > in vivo generation of oxidents is a normal consequence of aerobic > metabolism and may affect yeast health during propagation and > fermentation.analysis of larger yeast DNA confirmed the presence of 6 > key anti-oxident genes(SOD1, SOD2, CTA1,CTT1,GSH1,GLR1) gene expression > was up-regulated in the presence of oxidents and mutant strains lacking > these genes were found to be hypersensitive >
Guest guest
I drink beer and my right ear burns and turns red and I get hives. I would guess its the yeast ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
Guest guest
Jackie, a few reasons I thought this was interesting. SOD1 mutation is known with ALS and one article I came across on ALS tied SOD1 mutation in with causeing TDP-43 misfolding or mutation. I haven't located it but also remember reading a short abstract on medline that linked a certain mycotoxin,(thinking it was trichathecene) to SOD1 mutations. this beer article talks about the mycotoxin problem in the brewery industries. the coralation between alcoholism disease and mold illness is pretty interesting. many symptoms are the same, and I cant help but fell that mold/mycotoxins in alcohol might be the addiction and the disease. just my personal thought. also interesting is the oxidative stress that seems to play a big role in gene mutation and matabolism in all of these and weather it's regarding plant's, anumals or humans, molds/myco's cause a oxidative stress responce. and I linked in the matabolism disregulation with this illness a while back. all these genes, protiens,DNA adducts is to much for me to dig to deep into but it's pretty interesting, what I can manage to understand. what get's aggervateing is the different words used to describe the same thing, and I wont get into that because it just get's me upset, and I wont get into the lack of organisation in the medical/science field, or how things keep getting " rediscovered " . " spinning wheels " . kind of how my brain works these days and the two together is most aggervateing. but I manage to soak a few things in here and there and some things makes me remember other things I've read. Im starting to see were the differences may lie in how different molds/myco's cause different affects, depending on many things, like if your already ill and it amases me how many diseases thought to only be inherited or now being realized to be also aquired. what causes disease? bacteria, viruses, fungi and chemical toxins. how some viruses and bacteria's can cohabitate with each other and fungi and our illness is based on whats liveing in the concoction we are inhaleing. like my second home with the high moisture problem, anything could have been in there. I think the longer a mold/moisture problem goes on, the more chance of some pretty funky things going on and that place had a mold/moisture problem for a long, long time from what I've been told. I also think theres a big difference between haveing a roof leak(moisture above ground) and haveing water/moisture problem under the home(connected with the ground) and/or standing water. more slime molds may play a role. anyway, it grosses me out to think about the brewing process with all that grain and water, almost all grain diseases are caused bt fungi. no wonder theres a problem. yet regardless of the health problems with drinking alcohol it's legal? just like some very toxic drugs, prescribed. amaseing how our illness is denied but behind the sences all those industries are dispertly looking for solutions to the mold/myco problem. I read a article from 2001 that said molds make up 25% of the earths biomass. I think it's been ignored way to long. --- In , " jackiebreeze " <jackiebreeze@...> wrote: > > I have no idea what any of this means!!
