Guest guest
Infectious Disease Society Of America http://www.idsociety.org/Template.cfm?Section=Home & Template=/ContentManagement/C\ ontentDisplay.cfm & ContentID=18717 The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is seeking expert consultants in Fungal Diseases including aspergillosis and zygomycosis, among other categories listed below. This request was made to members of the Infectious Disease Society of America, and posted on their web site. If any of our board members are members of that society, it would be a good opportunity to get our message out there. If we have any board members who are credentialed enough, though not members of that society, they should get in touch with the FDA, directly, to try to be considered for the position of consultant. If we don't try to change the system from within, we have no right to complain that the system is stacked against us. The following was posted on the Infectious Disease Society Of America website. FDA Seeks IDSA Members to Serve as Expert Consultants in Key Areas The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has contacted IDSA to solicit nominees from among the Society's members who are interested in serving as expert consultants in the capacity of Special Government Employees. Areas where particular expertise would be valuable to FDA include: Bacteremia and endocarditis Community and hospital-acquired pneumonia Emergence of resistance in gram-negative and gram-positive organisms Fungal diseases, including aspergillosis and zygomycosis Meningitis Osteomyelitis and diabetic foot infections Parasitic diseases, including malaria Otitis media and sinusitis Safety/risk management of antimicrobial products Topical antimicrobial products Transplant medicine Tuberculosis To apply, please send a statement of your willingness to serve as an FDA Special Government Employee.
