So glad you posted this. Recent blood work shows low neutrophil

counts. All doctors have been asked about what to do regarding

this...unanimous answer so far... " No problem, nothing to do about it

to correct it...only have to worry when neutrophil levels are too

high " they state. hmmmmmmm wonder if these low levels have anything to

do with the skin paleness one gets after exposure which doesn't seem

to return...anyone know?

Are neutrophils counted in a routine CBC? My doctor just had me

have a CBC since he felt I looked too pale. However he did this a

year ago also and didn't see anything to be concerned about in test

results. I did not get copy of test results though. I usually do

but have had too many things on my mind lately.

Also to add to this topic of anemia, was doing some reading on

something that led me to anemia, reading on that led me to anemia

and " ice chewing " which intriqued me since for the last couple of

months I've been desiring an inordinary amount of ice cream and

popcycles. I believe after reading that anemia that is caused by

digestive system inflamation may trigger a desire for " ice chewing "

or eating cold things to *soothe* inflamation of digestive tract. I

had a colonoscopy and endoscopy last week with biopsy of small

intestine but have not gotten results yet.

Anyway, never heard of that " ice chewing " is a symptom of iron-

deficiency anema. Iron pills help ice chewing symptom to go away I

have read but of course what is important is what is causing

enemia. Nutrients are absorbed in small intestine and recent test

does not look at that, except for whatever he was able to reach to

biopsy. Only test that looks at that is the new endoscopy by

swallowing a small digital camera the size of a capsule but

expensive and not sure of insurance requirements for getting test.

It was mentioned as a way to detect cancer of digestive system on

Today Show but I've had cancer in pelvic area and asked for test and

gi doctor just said " we'd have to do other tests first and see if I

qualified for test " . How much more qualified do you have to be to

look for cancer right in same area as you have already had it???

Dr Croft says neurotoxins can ruin the lining of your digestive

tract to point where you can starve to death even though you are

eating. Of course someone would die of heart failure or something

like that, so wouldn't state neurotoxins or digestive system damage

or anemia as anemia would make one weak and lack of protein for most

important muscle...heart...would lead to heart failure.

Sorry for such a cheery report.
