Guest guest
The OT at my son's school recently send home a Sensory Profile Caregiver Questionaire for me to fill out, only if I agree that he could use some sensory calming techniques in the classroom to help him with focus and attention. He certainly does need a lot of help with this. He's in a regular 1st grade class with a full time instructional aide. Could this backfire on me if I fill it out and turn it in? The OT was wanting to look at the results before his next ARD and discuss some strategies that might help him. I have no problem with anything that might help him pay attention better and not be so " all over the place " and high strung, but I certainly don't want anything like weighted vests or anything that will make him stand out even more than he already does. I'm sure the kids already make fun of him, although I don't think he's aware of it. But my main concern is how this could work against him/me in the ARD.
