Guest guest
I'm afraid they would put us all in " avoid this group " package but if others can think of something, I'm in. --- In , LiveSimply <quackadillian@...> wrote: > > Does anyone else here think that since we all seem to be facing > similar, serious problems economically as a result of our illness
Guest guest
Eh - we're already on lists, I'm sure. One of the other sites had negotiated discounts with lab, I noted once... ~H. barb1283 <barb1283@...> wrote: I'm afraid they would put us all in " avoid this group " package but if others can think of something, I'm in. > > Does anyone else here think that since we all seem to be facing > similar, serious problems economically as a result of our illness
Guest guest
Well then, there are labs in Dallas that Dallas Environmental Clinic uses that Dr Hooper runs. He does testing for mycotoxins. I wonder if he would give this group a discount on testing? The question would be if he does testing without an Rx requesting it. I bet he does since he doesn't bill to insurance companies but I did have an Rx for tests run by him so don't know for sure. Then second question would be if he would give discount. I don't know what the incentive for him would be since he is one of few labs that do the tests he does. Not like he has alot of competition but never know. I cannot look into this as I'm too busy trying to get back into my sick house. (Sounds weird but it's the 'sick' place I know rather than the 'sick' place I don't know.) Regarding Dr Hooper: I don't think he bothers with insurance anyway, since most insurances don't cover mycotoxin testing that I have heard of anyway. I heard the Medicare does though for those of you who are on disability coverage...I **think**. Medicare actually covers alot of novel treatment surprisingly and heard recently that Anthem has started to cover some medical services that members have gone out of the country for this they were less expensive. Insurance companies SHOULD be interested more in treatments that strive to cure rather all this symptom management done by most doctors here. For example I heard Medicare covered some alternative cancer treatments people were going to Mexico for. > > Eh - we're already on lists, I'm sure. > One of the other sites had negotiated discounts with lab, I noted once... > > ~H. >
Guest guest
There need to be state-based organizations to lobby in each state for better laws on mold in workplaces and homes. There need to be ways we can get package deals on services we need such as medical testing and treatments. etc. There are also other services that we need that we might be able to get discounts on. For example, mold victims seem to sometimes need to replace almost everything they own. That is a dream market for some industries. Shouldn't we be able to get a discount on that somehow? Similar to the discounts given older people.
Guest guest
Barb, YES, that is another thing we desperately need, a way to get testing without an Rx in a pre determined package of tests that will expedite the process of people being able to get the right treatments. Say Lab Corp and Quest could have some code number that would allow us to get a bunch of their tests all for under $400 or so. so the total would be under $1000 for people. That has been a BIG obstacle for me, the costs of all those tests and the difficulty of getting doctors to prescribe them.
Guest guest
I just noticed at POA website that Dr Hooper's company that I suggested would be good lab to get a discount from, " Realtime Labs " , is one Melinda Ballard has arranged discounted tests and there is no Rx necessary...unless you are insured and you want your insurance to pay for it, then you would need an Rx. > > Well then, there are labs in Dallas that Dallas Environmental Clinic > uses that Dr Hooper runs.
