Moldy Basements Can Be A Health Risk

A leaky basement can be hazardous to your health.

Officials with Two Rivers Health Department say when you have damage

make sure the area is structurally sound.

Keep your eye out for electric lines and avoid getting shocked, but

most importantly beware of mold.

Terry Kohn of the Two Rivers Health Department says, " Mold can

definitely be harmful, especially if somethings been wet for a long

time. There is no such thing as good mold or bad mold, but do

everything you can to get rid of the mold. "

Terry adds when you're trying to get rid of mold in your home, be

sure to wear a mask, gloves and eye wear.

She also says you can't always just clean the soaked material and

sometimes it's best just to throw it away.
