I had a plumber come over today b/c I'm having a whole house

Whirlpool water filterization unit installed under my house. He

happens to be a hvac person too and said that my part of my drain

line wasn't done properly which was suppose to have been fixed Jan.

2006 when I had my extreme crawlspace makeover. What he did has a

place I can put bleach and hot water in he said once a year to keep

clean. Was told about the bleach cleaning here back then but never

found a place on my old unit to do that or the new unit. He opened

up the airhandler and there was no mold. Couldn't look in the plenum

b/c airducts are sealed but there should not be any mold in there.

He said also they had put to much freeon in my heatpump and that was

as bad as too little. He fixed that.

Then he said I should not have the floor register air filters b/c

restricts air flow and since I had Hepa filter in my airhandler I

should not use the Merve 11 on up filters b/c that restricts airflow

too. I felt better using the floor register filters so nothing goes

down in the airducts and I have 8 furbabies that shed and also dust

and stuff go down those vents. I think it is OK to use them. He

said he was bringing me a case of vented filters but I can get those

at Lowes ETC. He actually said to take out my Merve 11 and it will

be OK til Monday when he comes back b/c I have the Hepa in

airhandler. He also took it out and sat it beside the wall and that

freaked me b/c that just spreads what is on it all over the air.

Carl, anybody else, do you think it restricts airflow if I use a

Merve 11 and have a Hepa filter in the airhandler and use floor

register filters? Will a pleated(or whatever he is bringing) filter

be enough with a Hepa in airhandler? I think the hvac guy that

installed my airhandler mentioned too many filters and restricting

airflow and seems I ask about that back then on here. The systems

seems to be OK with me using for a year and a half all the filters.

I didn't even need to change the Hepa in the airhandler b/c air must

be cleaner in my house due to the Merve 11 and 3 Hepa air purifiers

and I use a Hepa vacuum cleaner. Plumber/Hvac guy did say he could

see after all I went thru why I was trying to have clean air.

Anyone tried the new Whirlpool selfcleaning whole house water

filter? My sister said it got good reviews on something she

watched. My old NSA is near 20yro and I have to change a carbon tank

and prefilter and would like to not worry about when to change that

and I have done it myself and finding the carbon isn't easy now

either.

Maybe I can just use a lower Merve than 11. I had actually found a

Merve 12 I was getting ready to change but not sure I should use that

now. I want to use the best filter inside and just b/c I have a hepa

in my airhandler doesn't mean I can't filter more.

I'm doing much better after being out of toxic workplace since Jan.

this year. I still react badly to weather fronts with major

pressure and headaches, eye/face swelling. I stopped the CSM and

only take if I think I have been exposed to something. I do not get

all the symptoms daily I use to get when exposed. I will always

wonder if I had not been exposed if I'd be reacting to the fronts so

bad. I have had others say they are getting dizzy and headaches and

pressure from the fronts also. I did get pins/needles and symptoms

at my sister's house twice going there since out of toxic work so I

believe her hvac/crawlspace etc is contaminated and they have had

flooding under house. I smelled a musty smell coming from her vents

when close to them so I really do not like going there and don't

much. She also uses plugins to the extreme and that is mostly what I

smelled when there and I think I react to those chemicals and others

as well, MCS.
