That is why " The Work " is so important; to investigate the outside thoughts of the ego. Then the decision maker (as it is called In the Course of Miracles) can decide if it is spirit or ego. If you are interested in further explaination, I recommend reading one of Wapnicks book on The Course (be prepared for heaving reading) or Renard's book, " The Disappearance of the Universe. " But of course, you don't have to; you can just stand, sit and lie. Do what is true for you. Atlanta, GA
Guest guest
hi, To check if i heard, your message read: To stand, sit, lie comes from the Spirit. The instinct of survival may come from the Ego. to stand, sit, lie, is always true. " The course " is for Duality. The Ego is independent from the Spirit according to this book.(this one seems shaky to me) (I think that " the disappearance " is for non-Duality). did i get it? > > > > If all we do , as KT says, is stand, sit and lie, -we don't even have > > to have a pulse for it- then this is all that we want to do. > > The primary drive- or Want- for survival- that forces us to do > several > > things, is it's existence questionable or how is it explained? > > > > According to The Course in Miracles, that is the duality of ego versus > spirit. Guest guest
Tammy Are we permitted to doubt the instinct of survival (theoretically only) IF according to it is not a primary Want and what happens when we do. > > I am sorry, > I didn't understand the question > > Can you say it again in other words? > > T > > -- stand, sit, lie- what do we want to do? > > If all we do , as KT says, is stand, sit and lie, -we don't even have > to have a pulse for it- then this is all that we want to do. > The primary drive- or Want- for survival- that forces us to do several > things, is it's existence questionable or how is it explained? > > > > > > >
Guest guest
I am sorry, I didn't understand the question Can you say it again in other words? T -- stand, sit, lie- what do we want to do? If all we do , as KT says, is stand, sit and lie, -we don't even have to have a pulse for it- then this is all that we want to do. The primary drive- or Want- for survival- that forces us to do several things, is it's existence questionable or how is it explained? Guest guest
Dear Nel, how nice to hear from you! You notice that you eat. Who forced you? And if you say " the ego " , then you just created an ego. Don't try to take too many steps at once. It doesn't work. haven't you noticed? Guest guest
Dear nel stevens, My understanding is that the eliminating is done via what refers to as the Heart. The Course in Miracles calls this the Holy Spirit and I have also heard it referred to as the " Higher Self " and the " Mind of Christ " , among others. Basically, it is a part of our mind that still remembers who we actually are. For me, this is trusted due to the good, peaceful, happy feelings it brings for me. And yes, in my humble opinion, the Truth is already known by us, and when this Heart brings it to our awareness, it is like a " remembering " rather than a " learning " . Guest guest
Dear nel stevens, I do not understand your post? What is " S,S & L " . Is S & L Savings and Loan? By the way, The Work has no philosophy or beliefs about any of this. The Work is simply 4 questions and a turn around. And, I see you are dealing with what I refer to as " Level Confusion " . To me, speaks from two different levels. One is the level of this illusion in which there is a body and there can be suffering. The other is Reality, in which there is only one Mind and no separation. My guess is that this is done in order to assist people to undeerstand. But again, what the hell do I know? You awked and I answered. Guest guest
OK, now I understand SSL (stand sit lie). as you will notice, I don't know much and A = B leaves me confused. You said: " " All we can do is ssl " - all we want to do is ssl because that's all we do- we don't want to do anything else... " . I understand the first part (All we can do is ssl); however the rest of your statement I do not agree with (all we want to do is ssl because that's all we do- we don't want to do anything else). I see us wanting a lot of things. By the way, I don't take 's statment regarding S,S & L literally, I believe she uses that as a teaching mechanism so that we understand that we are not really doing anything. That we are merely being aware of thoughts and accepting them as true and that gives us what we call a life and a body and a world and a universe.
