WACO - Mold and mildew cover the walls at a local apartment

complex. Residents are outraged. But the question is what's being

done to fix it?

Residents at a local complex called News Channel 25 searching for

help. So we went digging. What we found at The Villages Apartment

complex in north Waco was alarming. Walls covered with mold and

mildew obviously from a leaky roof.

There are a lot of disgusted residents, because for over a year now

they say they've dealt with mold issues. They tell us they've

turned in work order after work order, and nothing has been done.

Tonia 's closet walls are covered in mold and mildew. The

smell of mold and mildew permeates her entire apartment.

But her biggest concern is her five year old daughter. " My oldest

girl is five and has asthma. I have to keep her away from the

closet and away from the living room as much as possible. "

says every time it rains she not only has to deal with the

mold coming back but also wet carpet.

We talked to the lady who lives in the apartment below , and

her closet looked similar, with mold also covering her walls

" Every time it rains I tell them, but they haven't done anything

about it, nothing. They say mildew is our responsibility to clean

it up, but I can't clean all of that, " said .

News Channel 25 tried to talk to the apartment manager but we were

directed to their corporate office in Dallas. We also put in a call

to them, but they never called back.

News Channel 25 did do some research on the health effects of mold

and found that mold can actually affect people differently.

For some, like 's daughter who suffers with asthma it could

cause it to worsen. And others are not affected by it at all,

however it just creates a nuisance.
