You are both correct about avoiding ice in your drinks. According to

traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) we are taught to not drink anything cold but

rather at room temperature. The theory of this is that it is the spleen that

does not like the cold. The spleen has to do with transportation and

transformation of fluids, among many other functions according to TCM

principals. The

organs according to TCM are thought of differently then the western

functions for these organs. However, there is often an overlap of functions

for

these organs in both TCM and western theory.
