Guest guest
I know a single Mother whose son is 21 yrs old who has Autism, quiet severely impaired. She was in another state receiving services and Medicaid services but that all goes away if you move to another state. She moved here and does not know how to get any services for him because of the long wait list. Anyway, ideas if the system is different once these kids reach adult age? She was told she would have to put him in a state school for at least 6 months to get into the system, other wise it was a 10-12 yr waiting list? She looked at the state run school and was so unhappy that was the only offer to get help for her son. She really needs assistance with him but does not have any family or friends who can help. Does anyone know anything different? Agencies to contact regarding this type of situation. Thanks in advance.
